3-Persephone and Hades
It is the story of Zeus’s daughter, who Hades, the underworld god, kidnaped. The legend has it that during his months of absence, the land was barren because she was considered the goddess of vegetation and grain.
She spent six months with Hades and finally married him.
4-Narcissus and Echo
Echo had a melodious voice, and Venus fell in love with her. But Venus’s wife cast a spell on Echo that took her ability to talk fluently. After the curse, she could speak only the last words of a sentence. Narcissus was an excellent-looking man who Echo admired. But owing to her speech inability, she embarrassed herself in front of Narcissus and got rejected.
5- Theseus and the Minotaur
Minotaur was a terrifying monster in Greek myths. He was half man and half bull. Theseus was the son Aegeus (the king of Athens). Theseus, therefore, killed the Minotaur and cut off his head with the help of Ariadne. Theseus loves Ariadne, but they never get married.
6-Prometheus and the Theft of Fire
Prometheus is one of the original titans. He was the person who stole the fire from Zeus and gave it back to humanity.
When Zeus found out that he punished him and chained him to a rock in the mountains. In the end, Heracles came to free Prometheus from his punishment.
7-The Trojan horse
As per Greek myths, Greeks breach the walls of Troy. They made a giant wooden horse. They used a cunning trick to enter the city and win the war. Odysseus and the other Greeks defeat Trojans. So the wooden horse was the reason for Greek’s victory.
It is the story about Daedalus and his son Icarus who used wings to escape from the notorious tower of King Minos. Daedalus told his son not to fly near the sun. But Icarus did not listen to his father. As a result, his wings broke down, and he sank into the sea.
9-Perseus and the Gorgon Medusa
Perseus was the legendary hero in Greek history who slaughtered many monsters and giants. He cunningly killed Gorgon Medusa and the sea dreadful sea monster Cetus. He used a mirror shield to get medusa from her cage. He cut her head and did not see her directly.
The legend has it that whoever saw into her eyes would turn into a stone.
10-Oedipus and the Oracle’s Prophecy
The tale of Oedipus (King of Thebes) is perhaps the most tragic family story of Greek. Oedipus killed his father unknowingly and married his mother, thus fulfilling an oracle’s prophecy that his father tried hard to avoid.
